I’m a photographer and filmmaker based in Tokyo. I’m drawn to unfamiliar places — to arriving somewhere new, walking its streets and discovering the rhythms of everyday life with a camera in hand.

The noise of a market, the smell of a side street, a child laughing, a quiet morning when nothing much happens — I photograph and film cities, people and the small, ordinary moments that give a place its character.

Some things can only be understood by being there.

Places that seem distant often feel much closer once you walk their streets and see how people live. Through photography and film, I try to bring those moments back as honestly and directly as I can, without over-polishing or dramatizing what was there.
